Accessing an Excel file from Sharepoint via the Spotfire Library

I am using Tibco Spotfire 2.2 and have created a library with a link to an Excel file on a Sharepoint site. When I reload the dxp from the library, the data gets not refreshed with the data from the Sharepoint Excel file. A look a the data table properties shows, that not the Sharepoint Excel file is linked to the library, but a copy in my Temporary Internet Files. How can I set up the link to the Sharepoint Excel file in such a way that the data automatically will be refreshed?

You need to use standard Windows file paths instead of http(s) URLs. Choose "Open with Windows Explorer" from IE when browsing the site and then copy the path of the file (Shift-Right Click on Vista and W7 + "Copy As Path".

That should give you a file path that looks like \\SPServer\DavWWWRoot\path\to\file and that will work just fine.

I know the path to the Excel file on Sharepoint.

    \\teamsites.unilever.com/collab/ClinicalsCFCLeadershipSite/Docs/Team%20Documents/Programme/Clinicals%20Dashboard%20V1.11.xls

But Spotfire won't accept this file to open.

That sounds strange. Can other non-Office programs open the file using that path (try notepad, for instance)?
