Normally you would need the local adaptor where the Spotfire client is installed.

Please contact our support team for a better analysis, why the normal stat server cannot be reached.

    Hello Christof

My problem is that, when i run the local adapter it is showing a dialogue box, where i need to mention the path of the statistics

server which can browse only the local machine's folders.

But  in my System (where ONLY CLIENT is there) since there is no statistical server installed how do i need to mention the

path and start the local adapter ??

I have already mailed to them but no one is responding to it SO please help me out

    Thanks

    Hi Christoff,

That is not solving my problem. The path that has to be specified is the path of the Splus engine which can be browsed

only from that hard disk, in which case I need to install the statistics server in my pc also.

    Hi SAI,

The Local Adapter is for local (desktop) prototyping of S+/R Data Functions with Spotfire. The standard configuration is as follows:

    • Install Statistics Services (TSSS) on a remote server. Its URL will be http://<servername>:8080/SplusServer
      • There is no need to install the S+ engine on the remote server, since it gets installed with TSSS.
    • On your Spotfire Server, add the above URL to your Data Functions configuration.
      • Then, enable the Data Functions licenses for the appropriate Spotfire users.
    • For desktop prototyping of data functions, install the Local Adapter on your Spotfire client machine
      • Point the Local Adapter to your local S+ installation.
      • DO NOT INSTALL the Local Adapter on the remote TSSS server. It's redundant, and you will likely have port conflicts.
    • By default, users' Data Function requests will hit the TSSS URL that you configured on the Spotfire Server.
      • For desktop prototyping, you can override the default Stats Services URL to point to http://localhost:8080/SplusServer, which is the URL for the Local Adapter.
      • This will force the Data Functions to execute against your local S+ installation, which is helpful when you're prototying using S+ packages and libraries that you're not yet ready to put into production.

You can find all the appropriate installation/admin documentation on the STN at:

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Dan,

Thanku very much for ur valuable reply.we have done with the installationAs you have mentioned in the second step that we need to enable the data function license in the spotfire server.we are working with the trail version..so is there any option to do so in the trial version???

    Thanks

When you say "trial version", are you talking about the full evaluation (i.e., you installed your own server), or the one-year Silver trial? If the former, yes you can (and need to) enable the appropriate license.

    Hi Dan,

We are using the full evaluation and have installed our own server. But we are not able to see Data Functions configuration

where we have to enter the URL.

    Thanks & Regards

    Sai
