Line Chart with aggregates on X and Y axes

I have data in the below sample format ,

    Pattern  Date            Oil    Steam

    P1        02/28/2010   500   800

    P1        03/31/2010   600   850

    P2        02/28/2010   300   500

    P2        03/31/2010   400   670

    P3        02/28/2010   500    400

    P3        03/31/2010   200   200

I have a filter on the first column and i select P1 and P2. Now in my line chart I want to plot an Sum of Oil values for both patterns against Sum of Steam values for both patterns for all available periods.

Whenever i try to apply sum on both axes, i just get one total value on both axes. How can i do a correct plot of the totals over the periods ?

    Please advise.

     Thanks,

    Hi,

X.Axis is the categorical or continuos dimension by which you aggregate.

If it is an aggregation it will give 1 value for all data summed up....

Leave the X.Axis as is (dates).

In the Y.Axis you can do as many aggregations as you wish (steam and oil) and if you need custom expressions you should also do them only in the Y AXis.

If you wish to see each aggregation next to the other for the same date , add "column names" psuedo column to the X.Axis.

You can also add "Column Names" to the color to make a difference in the aggregation color.

    Best Regards,

    Eran

Try the clip in feather hair extensions cheap, theyre called that but dont actually clip in, what it is, it's a layer of hair feathers extensions stuck on with glue with little staples, sounds wierd but actually are comfortable, they last about 2 months these are also re-useable if you look after them well. Also you can put in as much layers you want. Take the hair extension clips to a salon and let the stylist put them in. Should be cheaper than the stylist actually doing individual human hair extensions ( as opposed to a clip on piece). Pay attention to how the stylist adds them in and then duplicate this yourself.
