    Unable to login

I installed the new Silver 2.0 and created a Silver account. I am unable to login. After entering my user and password I get the error below. Can someone help? Thanks, Galit Shmueli ---------------- Error message: Initialization failed. The application is not set up correctly. It will now terminate. Re: Unable to login

Hi Galit, This type of error is seen if the Software is not installed correctly. Can you try to uninstall Silver Spotfire completely (Note:See that you delete the TIBCO Folder created under Program Files if that still exist after uninstalling) and install the Silver Spotfire software again. Also if possible disable any antivirus software running on your PC, might be the Antivirus Software is blocking download of all the packages. Also please check if you are connecting to correct Server (https://silverspotfire.tibco.com).
    Thanks,
    Regards,

    Re: Unable to login

Hi Ripan, I already tried uninstalling and re-installing... Still the same problem. Yes, I am connecting to https://silverspotfire.tibco.com and that is when I receive this error message. When I connect to the old server (eval.spotfire.com) using my previous credentials everything is fine... Is there some collision? Galit

    Re: Unable to login

Hi Galit, Can you delete all the files from C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TIBCO\Spotfire\3.3.1\Settings and then try to login back to the Silver Spotfire client? Also make sure you click on "Update Now" button when it asks you to update for the first time after logging in.
    Thanks,

I don't have a LOCAL (nor TIBCO) folder under C:>Users...AppData. I have Windows 7. Galit

    Re: Unable to login

Hi Galit, It should be a hidden folder. Please enable "View Hidden Folders" option from Control Panel > Folder Options.

OK - got it. I removed all the files from the Settings directory. Then I tried logging into Spotfire Silver client (server: https://silverspotfire.tibco.com). The error msg is below. Just to make sure, I also tried logging in to the old eval server, and that was successful. It opened version 3.2.1. ---------------------------- Error message: Initialization failed. The application is not set up correctly. It will now terminate. ApplicationSetupException at Spotfire.Dxp.Framework: Failed to initialize the library manager. Re: Unable to login

Ripan - I think the problem is that it is trying to access version 3.2. I again uninstalled Silver. I removed folders 3.3 and 3.3.1. I also removed the folders for 3.2 and for 3.2.1. I have no other folders in the Spotfire folder. Now I installed the client. The login screen says Version 3.2. I enter username and password and it says "successful logging in" but then I get the initialization error after it tries "loading extensions".

    Re: Unable to login

Hi Galit, Can I know from where you have downloaded the client? If it's not from Silver Spotfire Website, than I would recommend you to do so. Log in to your account on Silver Spotfire Website and you will find the download link under your account tab. Make sure you uninstall everything and delete all Spotfire folders before installing it again. If that's from Silver Spotfire Website let me know.

    Re: Unable to login

I had the same issue and it did not resolve after uninstalling and installing Spotfire. Then I uninstalled it-> Removed c:\programfiles\TIBCO which remained even after the uninstall and installed Spotfire again and it was working again.

    Thanks Ripan!
