TIBCO Spotfire

Is there a way to get the parent column(s) of the marked rows.  I have a set of data with columns for multiple cost categories and another column with various areas.  I am marking areas in one plot and then using the marked areas to show the various cost categories for that area.  I would then like to mark a cost category and then create a custom expression in another visualization using that whole cost category column that I marked.  I need a way to call the parent column for those marked rows though.
