Does anyone know how to change a database column name into another name (alias) in an information link?

When you add the column element, just double click on the column (Column Element name) and you can rename it.

Hi John

Sorry but I dont think I can see how to write the new name (double click does not work)? How do I do this - please be more specific?

I can easily rename the information links, but the column names I cannot.

Hi Laurits,

If I understand correctly, and what you are looking for is just to change the name of the column element you can achieve this inside the Spotfire Library.

Just log in the library, browse down to the column element, right click on it -> Edit Properties and you can change the name of the data column from here. The good thing is that this change doesn't affect the ID of the Column element, meaning that any InfoLink where you might be using this column element or even any visualization that consumes this element will not be affected at all.

You can also accomplish the same within the InfoDesigner. As before, Just right click on the column element on the "tree control" on the left pane and go to Edit Properties... there you can change the name as well. Hope this helps.
