  • Surpressing values in crosstab

I created a simple crosstab with hierarchy on the Y-axis and value on the X-As. Via an expression I'm able to set negative values to "null": if(sum([Value])>0,sum([Value])) But what I really want is to surpress the negative values. I expected that I could do this by setting the folowing...

  • Sum of past week

Here is a tough one. Is it possible to create a table from another that displays a row the monday of every week and then sums up the past week for that day?

  • Expression to smooth a rough Line Graph

I'm sure there is a way to get the average of two consecutive points on a line graph to smooth out a rough graph. I’m not sure about the expression and if I have to do it in a new calculated column or can I apply it to the line itself? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

  • Expression to calculate difference between the first and last value of a date range

I need a chart that displays the difference between the first and last value based on a date range the user chooses. Using expressions I can get the value of the first and last and subtract, but it isn’t subjected to the date range filter.

  • Is it possible to construct out a decile table ?

I'm trying to compare two scores, to determine which is the most predictive or indeed whether there is lift from their combination. The most efficient way would be to construct a decile summary chart, ie the vaules of each variable at given percentiles. While it would seem you have a function for...

  • Multiple substitutions

can I perform multiple substitutions to create a single calculated column? If so, what's the syntax? I've tried a few ways but no joy e.g. Substitute([Col1], "02101","Name 1") and Substitute([Col2], "02102", "Name 2")) Thanks Nina

  • Using the Repeat Expression Function to Create Horizontal Bars

We do not have a visualization which allows horizontal bars, however, you can create an expression which would create a pseudo horizontal bar in a Table based plot. This is possible using the Repeat function available in TIBCO Spotfire version 3.1 for constructing an expression. Let’s assume we have...

  • Retrieving values from one column to use in an expression in another Column

A couple weeks ago we did a post that discussed how to rank something over various groups in their dataset. As a variation of this, many situations arise where customs need to find values in a specific column inside an expression available in another column. We will explain this scenario with an example...
